This webpage is dedicated to the history and heritage of Juan Garza Vidaurri.  A handsome man, husband, father, Texas Deputy Sheriff, Bounty Hunter and adventurer.  He was my Great Grandfather and until recently, I knew little about him.  But recently, 2008, I was introduced to a second cousin and also a great grandson of Juan Garza Vidaurri, Jesus Rubio, who spent as many years researching and investigating the heritage of our common ancestor as I spent on geneology all together.  Mr. Rubio has documented much about Juan Garza and provided the photos that appear in the header and on the photos page.

I; however, learned some about our mutual Great Grandmother, seen here above, Aurora Saenz Gonzalez who was also my mother's namesake.  Here's what we know.  Juan Garza Vidaurri was married three times.  I know nothing of his first wife, but I know a bit more about his second wife, Aurora Saenz Gonzalez.

In 1910 they lived in San Antonio.  But in 1920, they lived at Rancho Palo Blanco on land that I later learned belonged Aurora and which she inherited from her father.  They had seven known children and their names are on the table on the left.

Aurora died sometime soon thereafter and may be buried at the cemetary at Palo Blanco. "Papa Juan" remarried with a cousin of Aurora's named Juanita Gonzalez.  They moved to Roma, Texas, had two children, Rudico and Zulema.  Juan and Juanita both died in the 1920's.
